On Thursday 7 December 2023, the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD, in partnership with the Jean Monnet Module PostBrexitLaw, hosted an online event on the “NGEU Values and Rule of Law Conditionality”, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm (Dublin time).

This event was a thought-provoking exploration of crucial EU challenges and their implications. The discussion delved into the critical and timely topic of the Next Generation EU Fund, the Rule of Law Conditionality Regulation and the EU’s handling of rule of law backsliding Member States. Our distinguished speakers and panellists, including leading academics and think-tankers, provided valuable insights and fostered a dynamic exchange. This event offered a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of one of the most significant EU challenges – how the EU can overcome rule of law backsliding in the Member States. It also provided a platform for networking and engaging in meaningful conversations with experts in the field.
