Dear <<First Name>>,
With this message I would like to invite you to save the date for the Kick-off Conference of the new Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD, which is scheduled on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 February 2022. It will be held online, with a keynote speech by Paschal Donohoe, President of the Eurogroup and Minister of Finance of Ireland.
As announced before Christmas, the Brexit Institute at DCU has recently been awarded funding from the EU under the Erasmus+ programme to establish a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, focusing on the "Next Generation EU" (NGEU) Recovery Fund, which the EU institutions put together to address the devastating socio-economic consequences of Covid-19.

REBUILD, which is the first Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at DCU, is designed to serve as a hub for thought leadership on the rebuilding of the EU economy beyond the pandemic, exploring NGEU's governance, values and funding mechanisms, and discussing its broader impact on European integration. The project, which I lead, builds on the international network of the Brexit Institute, and the interdisciplinary expertise of staff in law, politics and political economy at the DCU School of Law & Government. As the first initiative of its kind across Europe, REBUILD serves as a platform to produce cutting-edge research, promote public debate and engage with policy-makers, business leaders and civil society in Ireland and throughout the EU.
To this end, I am delighted to bring to your attention the new website of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD, which you can freely access and browse here.
Moreover, let me draw your attention to the stellar program of the kick-off event, which will be opened by a keynote speech of President Paschal Donohoe, on Thursday 24 February from 1 to 1.30pm Dublin time. This will be followed by five online high-level academic panels, the details of which you can see in the full programme here.
You can freely register to attend the two-day Conference online via Zoom below (Please note you will have to register for both days seperately):

Day 1

Day 2
I hope to see many of you on this occasion. Needless to say, I remain available to provide further input on the project's content and opportunities. In the meanwhile, thanks for your attention and please accept my best wishes.
Yours
